Winnipeg police have arrested a suspect in connection to a homicide that claimed the life of a 15-year-old boy. 

On March 6, at around 1 a.m., officers responded to the 200 block of Amherst Street, where they located two teenage boys that had been shot. 

A 17-year-old boy was transported to hospital in unstable condition and later upgraded to stable condition. The second victim, a 15-year-old boy, was transported to hospital in unstable condition and succumbed to his injuries. 

On Sunday, officers arrested and charged a 17-year-old boy with manslaughter in connection to the shooting. 

Police say that the 15-year-old and his 17-year-old brother were involved in an altercation with an unknown group of males in the 300 block of Sackville Street. A shooting took place where both victims were struck, and the suspects fled.

The victims made their way to a home in the 200 block of Amherst Street, where they encountered a 17-year-old male known to them. He was armed with a gun, and a subsequent shooting happened, where the 15-year-old was critically injured.
