A 17-year-old boy is dead following a confrontation last weekend.

On Saturday, June 17, 2023 at around 10:30 p.m., a 17-year-old boy was allegedly leaving a concert downtown when a fight broke out nearby.

The victim allegedly intervened in the confrontation and was stabbed by a 14-year-old boy. A 15-year-old female also became involved in the fight

Bystanders called 911 and provided first-aid to the injured male until emergency crews arrived.

The teen was rushed to hospital in critical condition. He died of his injuries on Wednesday.

The Major Crimes Unit initially took over the investigation. The Homicide Unit has now taken over the investigation.

Two teens have been charged in connection to the youth's death.

A 14-year-old male has been charged with 2nd Degree Murder and detained in custody.

A 15-year-old female is facing the following charges and released: Assault with a Weapon x 2.

The investigation is ongoing.
