A 30-year-old woman is dead after being struck by a train in Portage la Prairie.

The woman was found at the crossing on 3rd Street NE in Portage shortly after 8 p.m. on Wednesday.

Officers from Portage la Prairie RCMP, CP Police, EMS and the Fire Department attended and pronounced the woman deceased at the scene.

Portage la Prairie RCMP, along with CP Police, continue to investigate.
