Several people were left out in the cold Sunday night as Winnipeg fire crews battled a fire in a vacant home in the city's West End.

The fire broke out just after 9 p.m. in a vacant house in the 400 block of Agnes Street.

When crews arrived, they saw smoke and flames coming from the home. Firefighters attacked the fire from the outside until it was safe to enter the building to continue extinguishing the fire.

Two neighbouring homes were temporarily evacuated as a precaution. No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
