Winnipeg police are looking for witnesses of a crash Tuesday morning that left a cyclist seriously injured.

The crash happened around 6:30 a.m. near the intersection of Pembina Highway and Daly Street North. 

Winnipeg police say an 83-year-old man was riding his bike eastbound on Daly Street North, and as he approached and crossed Pembina Highway, he was struck by a southbound Chevrolet Colorado, resulting in serious injuries. 

The cyclist was transported to hospital in critical condition, where he remains.

The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and spoke with police.
