The freezing cold temperatures in Winnipeg are having a great effect on some of the most vulnerable, and one shelter could use some immediate help.

"Right now, dealing with the marginalized community, a lot of them are suffering from addiction," says Dave Feniuk, General Manager of Agape Table. "The first thing to go is your extremities."

From Friday and into the weekend, all of Manitoba will be seeing very cold temperatures with extreme cold warnings in place.

"We're in desperate need of mitts, gloves, and toques. Even those ear wraps to try and keep our guests as warm as possible."

Agape Table will take donations of new or even gently used mitts and toques.

"People can drop them off at 364 Furby Street between the hours of 8 a.m. and 2 p.m., Monday to Friday."

The ministry serves roughly 300-600 people each day.
