Public Health is announcing the next round of eligibility for second doses of the COVID-19 vaccine.

Starting at 11:45 on Tuesday, those who received their first COVID-19 vaccine on or before April 13 will be able to book their second dose. Second-dose eligibility continues to include people meeting specific health conditions and all Indigenous Manitobans.

Those who received the AstraZeneca vaccine can get the other mRNA vaccines, such as Pfizer or Moderna once they become eligible.

Anyone who received an AstraZeneca vaccine and is eligible for their second dose must wait for a minimum of 28 days between first and second shots.

Appointment can be booked online or by calling (toll-free) 1-844-MAN-VACC (1-844-626-8222).

So far, 852,094 first and second vaccinations have been administered in Manitoba. On Friday and Saturday, Winnipeg’s Leila super site offered walk-up immunizations. The province says 2.500 took advantage of the Moderna vaccines for their first or second dose.
