A special bake sale will be held this weekend to raise funds for a girl from Manitoba who has spent countless hours in the hospital.

Three years ago, 15-year-old Emily began complaining about her eyesight. After many trips to the ER, Emily was diagnosed with a brain tumour.

After four rounds of chemotherapy and eighteen rounds of radiation, doctors were able to get rid of the tumour. However, her journey does not end there.

Emily has now been left with cognitive and visual impairments and other health issues that will be a part of her life forever.

Emily has a dream of going to Australia to visit family and check out the Australia Zoo. On Saturday, April 15, Greencrest Pharmacy and Exchange District Pharmacy will host a bake sale to help this happen.

The Big Bake Sale will be more than a traditional bake sale, featuring live music, activities, face painting, and cookie decorating on-site. It is set to run from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. this Saturday at the Exchange District Pharmacy, 286 McDermot Avenue.

All profits from the event will be donated to The Dream Factory to help bring Emily's dream to life.
