It's been a busy season for Black Bear Rescue Manitoba.

Just one week after taking in three orphaned cubs, three-month-old sisters from Waywayseecappo, Manitoba, another bear cub is calling the rescue home.

"She comes from the Shoal Lake district in Western Manitoba and was alone for at least four days, and was retrieved from a tree by Natural Resources staff," said Black Bear Rescue Manitoba in a Facebook post.

The fate of her mother or whether she had any siblings is unknown.

The rescue says that the cub was tiny and thin, with her backbone and ribs protruding when she arrived, weighing only 6.2 lbs. Other than being dehydrated and needing treatment with fluids and a few wood ticks removed, she was given a clean bill of health in her vet check.

"She’s very scared and spends her time hiding at the back of her house, but thankfully has been drinking her milk."

Black Bear Rescue Manitoba says they will give her plenty of time to rest and heal from her trauma before introducing her to Winston and the three bear cubs brought in back in April.
