It's all in a day's work for Winnipeg's Daniel Burkett.

A professional race car driver has broken a world record  for kart racing while raising money for charity.

Daniel Burkett set out to break the Guinness World Record for longest karting distance on an indoor track in 24 hours.

He began his solo race Tuesday evening at Speedworld Indoor Kart Track in Winnipeg. Burkett made his goal to travelled 750 kilometres by the time the clock ran out Wednesday at 6 o'clock. The record to beat was 732 kilometres.

Burkett raised money during his challenge for KidSport Manitoba to help underprivileged children in the province participate in organized sport.

Classic 107's Luke Thiessen was at Speedworld Wednesday afternoon to film Burkett as he neared the end of his 24-hour drive.
