It's just about spring clean up time for the City of Winnipeg.

The annual spring street clean up starts this Sunday at 10pm, and will run for 5 to 6 weeks.

The city's entire street network, including back lanes, sidewalks, and active transportation paths, will be swept. Work will initially focus on the downtown area, major routes, bridges and overpasses.

It's a $6-million operation involving more than 300 pieces of equipment and about 500 staff, both city personnel and contractors.

Temporary no parking signs will be placed on some streets during clean up, so keep your eyes peeled. You could be ticketed or towed.
