Here is Sheila's touching memory . . .
Sadly - My mother has since passed away but I think of her every day.
She lived on a farm with no running water for most of her life. Helped
raise poultry and cattle, pigs and even sheep at one point. She was an
amazing gardener - our canning jars were always abundant. The front yard
was a huge flower garden and it was always spectacular. Where she found
the time to nurture flowers while baking bread, hand making dozens and
dozens of perogies and cabbage rolls and raising 8 kids - and not
killing one of us in the process is beyond me . I am glad to have had
those"secret' recipes passed down to me - Thanks Mom!
Friday is Manitoba Day so Chocolatier Constance Popp very generously provided us two secondary prizes of their world famous Manitoba Bars!
