Over the past three decades, the University of Manitoba Singers have honed the musicianship and performance skills of countless students, exploring new and traditional choral repertoire in dynamic local, national and international concerts.

Friday, March 25, under the direction of Dr. Elroy Friesen, current University Singers are joined by an alumni choir to perform the exultant and exhilarating choruses — and double choruses! — from Handel’s oratorio Solomon.

Featuring a stellar cast of soloists that includes Daniel Taylor, Tracy Dahl and Monica Huisman, and the musicians of the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra, the concert begins at 7:30 p.m. at the Centennial Concert Hall. Option to attend in person or online. For further information, visit: www.wso.ca

Classic 107 morning host and University Singers alumni choir member Simeon Rusnak brought an audio recorder along to rehearsal and spoke with Elroy, as well as a few fellow choristers about the experience.
