One person is dead, and another seriously injured following a two-vehicle collision near Ste. Agathe.

The crash happened shortly after 5 p.m. Sunday at the intersection of Highway 75 and Provincial Road 305.

St. Pierre-Jolys RCMP say that a vehicle with two occupants was travelling eastbound on Provincial Road 305 when it approached the Highway 75 intersection. While crossing the highway, it was struck by a northbound semi-trailer.

The 40-year-old female driver of the eastbound vehicle was transported to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. Her passenger, a 43-year-old woman from Ste. Agathe was ejected from the vehicle. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

The 21-year-old male driver of the semi-trailer, from Winnipeg, was not physically injured.

St Pierre-Jolys RCMP continue to investigate.
