No one was injured after a fire ripped through a West End Home early Monday morning.

At around 2:30 a.m., the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service (WFPS) responded to reports of a fire in a two-and-a-half-storey converted residential dwelling in the 500 block of Furby Street.

Heavy flames were seen pouring from the home when fire crews arrived at the scene.

Everyone who was in the home when the fire broke out safely self-evacuated before firefighters arrived. Crews completed a search of the structure to ensure everyone had exited. No injuries were reported.

A few people have been displaced due to the fire. The City’s Emergency Social Services team is working with the displaced residents to help them find temporary accommodations.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. Damage estimates are not currently available.
