No one was injured following a pair of house fires on Wednesday.

The first blaze broke out in a single-storey home in the 1000 block of Kildare Avenue.

Smoke and flames were pouring out of the home with firefighters arrived. Crews attacked the fire from inside and had it under control within an hour.

Everyone safely self-evacuated from the home before crews arrived. Firefighters located two pet rabbits and brought them to safety.

Later in the evening, around 8 p.m., crews responded to a home in the 300 block of Washington Avenue.

At the scene, crews saw smoke coming from the home. Firefighters launched an offensive attack, and the fire was under control by 9:19 p.m.

The occupants of the home were able to self-evacuate before crews arrived.

The cause of both fires remains under investigation.
