As things have fully opened up, this New Year's Eve and Day there are many things that families can participate in heading into 2023.

1. New Year's Eve at the Forks Marketplace

The Forks is putting on a New Year's Eve event for the whole family, starting at 4:00 p.m. with a DJ dance party. They will offer entertainment on the CN stage from 7-8 before a pyro show put on by Archangel Fireworks Inc.

The music will keep going until midnight and the marketplace with its food vendors will stay open right up until the 'ball drops.'

2. Champlain Community Centre New Year's Eve

This community centre is offering fun for the whole family. They'll have face painting, ice skating, bouncy castles, food, as well as a fireworks show at 8:30 p.m. 

The suggested donation to join in the fun is $15 and/or a tin for the bin. They're located at 282 Niverville Avenue in Winnipeg.

3. Top Hats and Tiaras at Children's Museum

On New Year's Eve, the Children's Museum is hosting a party called Top Hats and Tiara's. An admission ticket gets people in for the event.

The idea is to dress fancy and join the party from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. There is an opportunity for families to take photos as souveniers as well as enjoy ginger ale and pizza snacks at noon. 

 4. The Wackydoodle Dance Party

The Park Theatre is hosting an all-ages dance party on New Years Day from 2:00 - 5:00 p.m. 

Children under 2 are free and everyone else can join for $5. They will have family-friendly jams spun by two of Winnipeg’s favourite DJs along with some snacks. 

5. Zoo Lights hosted by Folklorama

The Assiniboine Park Zoo hosts Zoo Lights most days in December. However, for New Year's Eve they are hosting the Zoo Lights put on by Folklorama. The Bannock Babes band will play from 6 - 8 p.m. and then Son D'Arranke will play from 8:15 until 9:30. 

The whole event runs from 5:00 until 11:00 p.m. with stunning light shows, food, and fun for the whole family. 

The cost is $16/person with children two and under getting in for free. 

6. Kilcona Park Alliance Church New Year's Eve Event

This event is open to everyone and will run from 4 - 7 p.m. on New Year's Eve at Kilcona Park Alliance Church in Winnipeg. 

People can start by meeting at the church at 4 p.m. and then head over to Kilcona Dog Park.

Everyone will head back to the church for a campfire with hot dogs, hot chocolate, and lots of fun.
