Mark Saturday, April 2 on the calendar. 

Manitoba Opera brings their season to a close in a gala concert featuring a quartet of acclaimed Canadian artists:  soprano Andriana Chuchman, mezzo-soprano Catherine Daniel, tenor David Pomeroy, and baritone James Westman.

Accompanied by the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Tyrone Paterson, the showcase will features favourite selections from the catalogues of Puccini, Verdi, Bizet and Mozart. 

“Nessum dorma” from Turandot, “Caro nome” from Rigoletto, and the ever-popular “Largo al Factotum” from The Barber of Seville are some of the works to be heard in the program, hosted by Winnipeg soprano Monica Huisman. 

The evening will also feature mezzo-soprano Lizzy Hoyt performing Angelina’s aria from Rossini’s La Cenerentola: “Nacqui all’ affanno…Non più mesta.” The opera, originally to be performed this April, which has been postponed to the fall. 

Both in-person attendance at the Centennial Concert Hall and livestream viewing will be available.
