Gas prices are continuing their historic climb in Winnipeg and the rest of Manitoba.

On Monday the price jumped from $1.969/L at many gas stations in Winnipeg up to $2.079. Once again it's an all-time high price.

Despite the high prices, Dan McTeague of Gas Wizard says that demand for fuel is still high across the nation.

"Prices are continuing to move up, reflecting summertime demand," McTeague said to the Canadian Press. "The demand for fuel continues to be very robust."

The average price of gas has risen 77 cents over the last 12 months in Winnipeg.

McTeague says he expects the average price across the nation to be $2.129 by the end of Monday.
