Schools, daycares, and municipal facilities in Gimli went into lockdown Thursday afternoon following a shooting in the area.
RCMP notified the RM of Gimli of the incident at around 1 p.m.
Gimli RCMP say shots were fired at a residence in town. No one was injured, but the suspect fled the scene before officers arrived.
RCMP say the suspect and residents are known to each other.

At around 4 p.m. RCMP advised the RM that this was an isolated incident and the public alert has been lifted.
