Violinists Nikki and Timothy Chooi are both decorated soloists in their own right; and, deservedly celebrated together as a pair of Canada’s most talented musical siblings.

This week, they return to Winnipeg and join the Manitoba Chamber Orchestra as part of the Spring Festival.

With music of Baroque masters on the program — including a performance of the Vivaldi Concerto for 2 Violins in A minor — the brothers are joined by harpsichordist and leader Luc Beauséjour in what should be a brilliant evening of music making.

Also on the program, the world premiere of Michael Oesterle’s Snow White. Originally composed for MCO Guest Artist-in-Residence Aislinn Nosky, the composition was arranged by the composer for the brothers to perform.

Classic 107 had the opportunity to catch up with the Choois between rehearsal and the first performance on Tuesday, March 22.

A second performance takes place Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. with the concert available online as of April 6.
