Winnipeggers who rely on home care services may have to wait a little longer Thursday.

The Winnipeg Regional Health Authority released a statement this morning letting residents of Winnipeg know that community health services – home care services, in particular – may be affected today due to stormy weather.

"Weather-related service delays or cancellations are possible for clients due to large amounts of snow and its impact on transportation and access to clients," said the WRHA in a press release.

The WRHA says they will work to maintain their schedules. However, in some situations, cancellations may be inevitable.

"Clients whose visits will be postponed or cancelled can expect to be contacted by phone and notified of the change. Clients wishing to cancel or postpone their visits may contact their case coordinator, nurse, or the after-hours service line at 204-788-8331."

The WRHA expects service to resume per usual once the Alberta clipper rolls out of the province.
