You can find Renée Fleming's new album in the Music Department of McNally Robinson Booksellers.

One of the most beloved and celebrated singers of our time, Renée Fleming, has released a new album on the Decca Classics label. "Lieder" is an album nearly 10 years in the making and features Romantic and late Romantic art songs by Brahms, Schumann and Mahler. In her first first full-length lieder album in almost two decades, Renée Fleming is joined by pianist Hartmut Höll in the Brahms and Schumann songs with the Münchner Philharmoniker conducted by Christian Thielemann in the orchestral version of the ‘Rückert-Lieder’ of Mahler.

In a press release, Fleming noted, “The German lied is, for me, both the foundation and the pinnacle of song literature. I am especially excited to have been able to collaborate with some of the greatest interpreters in the world for this repertoire. My performances and recordings with Christian Thielemann have been among the most artistically rewarding experiences in my life, and to sing the Mahler songs with him and the Münchner Philharmoniker was heaven. It was also a joy to record Brahms and Schumann with Hartmut Höll, who is world-famous as a master of the German lied.”

And don't forget, the four-time Grammy award winning Renée Fleming opens the 2019-20 Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra season on September 17th!
