With concerts by Canzona & Camerata Nova this weekend, it's a choral feast of delights.

On Sunday Nov. 23rd Canzona is opening their 26th season with Bach's choral masterpiece Magnificat. The Magnificat was written during a time when Bach was Kantor of St. Thomas in Leipzig. It was a prolific time for him, which saw him compose many of his choral masterpieces, including the St. John & St. Matthew Passions, The Mass in B Minor, The Christmas Oratorio and The Magnificat. It is a work conceived on a grand scale, requiring 5 solists, a 5-part choir and a large orchestra.

Camerata Nova's next concert takes place on Saturday Nov. 22rd and Sunday Nov 23rd. Manitoba Hyrdo will present their performance Ghosts of Christmas Past. The concert will feature a line-up of their favourites from past years. According to Camerata Nova, it will be weird, wonderful, sincere and soulful. Nobody puts on unique and fun programs like Camerata Nova.
