Block off Sunday nights on the calendar... Jazz Winnipeg has your plans covered.

Expect a classy affair as a new series of concerts take place in the historic Fort Garry Hotel from mid-September through mid-December as part of Jazz Winnipeg’s fall programming lineup.

The Club Room in the lower level of the hotel will serve as the home of Jazz Winnipeg into the foreseeable future, a “natural fit” according to Programs Manager Zachary Rushing.

“They have a history of having jazz music in the building and the atmosphere certainly suits the presentation,” says Rushing.

With two 60-minute shows planned each Sunday night (6:30 and 8:30 p.m.), Jazz Winnipeg welcomes a diverse array of local artists and out-of-town guests, in an effort to make Winnipeg more of a “destination spot” for touring artists.

“It’s a combination of looking at how we spotlight our talented local musical community,” explains Rushing when asked about the programming. “But, also just looking at how do we invite more touring musicians through to help get Winnipeg on the map.”
