The Jets playoff street party is getting even bigger.

Winnipeg is home to Minnesota on Friday, which means the third street party of the playoffs outside Bell MTS Place.

Economic Development Winnipeg president and CEO Dayna Spiring says they’re going to have capacity for 15,000 people, and they wouldn’t be surprised if attendance gets close to that.

"We're using relatively the same footprint. All the street closures are the same, except we're expanding a little bit down Graham," Spiring told reporters today. She says another TV screen is being added as well.

There've been two street parties so far this playoffs. About 5,500 people came out to the first one, and about 9,000 to the next. Winnipeggers have been generally well behaved so far, with no major incidents reported.

"The number of incidents we've dealt with have been similar to other large-scale sporting events. Nothing unusual. Of course, it's a strategic response by the service, and by that I mean we're identifying risks ahead of time and working with all partners -- True North, Economic Development Winnipeg -- to make sure that we're coming up with a strategic plan that will help us address the issues ahead of time. So we're quite happy and proud of how the participants have been behaving," said Winnipeg Police inspector Nick Paulet today.

Paulet said there have been minimal arrests related to the parties so far. "Nothing significant," he said.

The party will start at 4:30 on Friday. Donald Street will be closed from Portage Avenue to St. Mary Avenue from 10 Friday morning to 1 Saturday morning. Additional entry points will be opened up on Graham and Hargrave and Graham and Smith, in addition to existing entry points.

The Jets lead the Wild in their western conference quarter-final series 3-1.
