A 38-year-old Manitoba man is facing a long list of charges after over 100 firearms were seized from his home in Wawanesa.
The RCMP National Weapons Enforcement Support Team out of Winnipeg executed a search warrant at a home on July 20.
A total of 121 firearms were seized, along with several thousand rounds of ammunition, a large number of magazines (many of which were loaded), three sets of body armour, and firearms manufacturing paraphernalia.
53 of the seized firearms were non-restricted, 53 were restricted, four were prohibited (although purchased before prohibition), six were antiques and five were receivers/frames.
Of the firearms seized, 62 were long guns, and 55 were handguns. One antique functioning cannon was also seized.
A 38-year-old man is facing a long list of charges, including unsafe storage of a firearm and unauthorized possession of a firearm.
Further charges are possible as the investigation continues.
