The new kids on the choral block, Nuovoce present their first concert of the 2022/23 season.

Founded by husband and wife duo Justin Odwak and Sarah Sommer in 2019, the ensemble was sidelined after only a few performances, for reasons easily guessed. Persevering through the pandemic, the choir returns with a full season of programming, featuring in-person and livestreamed concerts.

“Just being back in person, in full rehearsals, it’s just been amazing,” says Justin Odwak. “We’re really excited to have our first fall concert in a while!”

Though presented during the holiday season, the concert – titled “Wild Forces” – isn’t festive, instead offering a programmatic collection of choral works focusing on themes of forces that impact our lives.

“It can be anything from love to faith to emotions... really dramatic music that we’re going to bring alive,” explains Odwak.

Filling the post-high school choral gap, Nuovoce offers young adults aged 18-30 the opportunity to keep singing in a challenging and collegial atmosphere.

The concert takes place at Grace Bible Church (366 Oakwood Street) Saturday, December 17 beginning at 7 p.m.
