It's expected to be pretty busy downtown tonight as the Jets host the Wild in what could be a series-deciding game five of the NHL Western Conference quarter-finals.

Donald Street is closed to traffic from Portage Avenue to St. Mary Avenue, just like last Friday, but the party area has been extended onto a portion of Graham Avenue, raising capacity to about 15,000.

Winnipeg Police public information officer Jay Murray says if we reach capacity, some fans will either have to wait for space to open up or look for other options. He says there's no plan to expand the party any further this evening, with the area set in advance.

Murray says police will be monitoring the evening as it unfolds and have the ability to manage resources on the go.

True North Sports and Entertainment senior vice-president Kevin Donnelly said earlier this week there is a precedent for such a large gathering at the arena.

"We had two Garth Brooks sold out performances, one after the other, and the people who were arriving were doing it at the time when the other group were in the building still. So, you know, this is exciting, there are no components to it, (but) you know, it's sort of more of the same," said Donnelly.
