For the first time in months, less than 200 new daily COVID-19 cases are being announced.

Vaccine eligibility

Those who received their first COVID-19 vaccine on or before May 1 can book their second dose. All other eligibility, including Indigenous people and those with specific health conditions, continue to be in effect.

All Manitobans aged 12 and older can receive their first COVID-19 vaccine. To date, 946,611 vaccinations have been administered.

New cases

As of Monday morning, two more people with COVID-19 have died, a man and a woman, both in their 60s from Winnipeg linked to the B.1.1.7 variant of concern.

There are 169 new COVID-19 cases, which Cheif Public Health Officer Dr. Brent Rousin says is the start of a decrease in cases.

New cases include:

  • 27 cases in the Southern Health–Santé Sud health region
  • 16 cases in the Northern health region
  • nine cases in the Prairie Mountain Health region

Hospitals continue to be overfilled, relying on other provinces. The province says 344 Manitobans are hospitalized with COVID-19 in Manitoba and neighbouring provinces.

There are:
