Two suspects are being arrested in the RM of Lakeshore after stealing a vehicle and being in possession of drugs and multiple weapons.

Ste. Lac du Rose RCMP responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle on a rural property. A media release indicates that when officers arrived on the scene, the vehicle was stuck in the mud and two suspects fled the truck. Both suspects were quickly apprehended and officers determined that the vehicle had been stolen on July 25 in Dauphin.

When officers searched the stolen vehicle, they found drugs and several weapons including a replica handgun along with other property that is believed to be stolen.

Jill Johnson, a 33-year-old Winnipeg resident and Curtis Pruden, a 28-year-old from Dauphin have been charged with Resisting Arrest, weapons offences and multiple counts of Failing to Comply. Both have outstanding warrants and both were remanded into custody.

The RCMP is advising the public that if they were a victim of theft or a break-in recently but have not yet reported it to police to contact their local detachment.
