A large plume of black smoke could be seen along Highway 75 early Thursday morning after a semi-truck and passenger vehicle collided and burst into flames.

The incident happened on Highway 75, just north of Letellier, at around 8 a.m.

Smoke and flames were seen coming from the front end of a semi pulling a vehicle trailer. It's unclear as to what led to the collision.

There is no word on injuries at this time. 

Emergency crews are at the scene for several hours. Highway 75 remains closed just north of Letellier for northbound traffic as of 2 p.m. Motorists are encouraged to avoid the area and find another route.
