Neepawa RCMP are investigating a two-vehicle collision that claimed the life of a Winnipeg woman late Thursday morning.

Just before 10:30 a.m. yesterday, Neepawa RCMP responded to a report of a crash on Highway 16, near Provincial Road 350, located approximately 12 kilometres east of Gladstone.

Officers say that an SUV with two occupants, being driven by a 53-year-old Winnipeg woman, was travelling westbound when it veered into the eastbound lane and collided with a semi head-on.

The 53-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Her 18-year-old passenger was transported to hospital with minor injuries.

The driver of the semi, a 63-year-old man from Plumas, was not injured.

Neepawa RCMP, along with a Forensic Collision Reconstructionist, continue to investigate.
