Sunday night (Nov 16), Winnipeg’s Westminster Concert Organ Series kicks off its 26th season with the amazing talent of Spanish organist Raúl Prieto Ramirez.

Raúl is the first Spanish organist in recent times to establish himself among the elites of the international concert scene. When he was 27, he was appointed as the first Organist in Residence of the Auditorio Nacional de Música in Madrid – Spain’s National Concert Hall. Since Fall of last year, Raul has been a member of Indiana’s Ball State University Music faculty. He also does extensive touring all over the world.

Before rehearsal Saturday morning, he stopped by the Classic 107 studio to talk to host Claudia Garcia de la Huerta.

Showtime is 7:30 Sunday night (Nov 16) at Westminster United Church. Tickets are $25 and available at McNally Robinson Booksellers or at the door. There is special pricing for seniors and students at the door as well.
