Sunday was  the first official day of Spring! University and college classes will be wrapping up. So what better opportunity to talk about how important students are to the WSO!

This week Maestro Alexander Mickelthwate talks about the bond between students and music the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra constantly aims to grow and strengthen. Whether it's through the symphony's outreach initiatives, special projects or partnerships.

You may not know this, but the WSO engages students from nursery school , right up through to post-secondary with dozens of programs and projects.

We'll talk to Carol Gamby of the Women's Musical Club about the WMC McLellan Competition and a 2012 winner---pianist Madeline Hildebrand. We'll  find out what the WSO's Soundcheck Program is all about thropugh Education & Community Engagement Manager Brent Johnson. Plus we'll hear from Soundcheck member Jennifer Derksen.

And, of course, lot's of wonderful music from Brahms, Prokofiev, Mendelssohn, Saint-Saëns and more!

Tune in Sunday evening at 5 PM! And don't forget about our ENCORE performances Monday nights at 8PM and Wednesday nights at midnight, following Jazz After 9.
