A pair of teens were arrested over the weekend after causing extensive damage to a vehicle and a 24-hour restaurant.

Winnipeg Police say they were contacted at around 4 a.m. on Sunday after a group of youths were seen damaging a vehicle parked outside a restaurant in the 200 block of Henderson Highway.

The suspects jumped on the hood of the car and smashed its windows before entering the store where they stole drinks and left, only to return and throw rocks at the establishment, damaging the storefront windows, as well as the glass barrier within the restaurant.

Two suspects were located nearby and taken into police custody while the others fled.

Two males, a 13-year-old and a 16-year-old, face Mischief Over $5,000 x 2 and Theft Under $5,000 charges.

They were released on Undertakings as mandated by the Criminal Code, and both were turned over to adults.
