Four horns of the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra, Patrician Evans, Aiden Kleer, Caroline Oberheu, and Michiko Singh, joined Classic 107 in the studio to spread a bit of festive cheer!
“Horns are the ultimate holiday instrument,” says WSO Principal Horn Patricia Evans.
Making the argument that it is often the horn that is featured on wreaths and ornaments, Evans contends that the instrument is worthy of the title. “They are aesthetically pleasing to look at as well as beautiful to listen to.”
The playing of the WSO Horn Quartet certainly shares in the beauty and bite of the instrument; the former heard in the sweet “In dulci jubio” whereas the latter exhibited in “You’re a mean one, Mr. Grinch.”
