Morning Light host Michael Wolch had a chance to speak with Rachel Barton Pine last week about her career so far and her new Mozart CD which comes out today.

Barton Pine is considered by may to be the most exciting American violinist of her genereation. Beginning at the age of three on the violin, and debuting with both the Chicao String Orchestra and Chicago Symphony Orchestras by the age of 10, she is not only a dazzling performer and virtuoso, but has overcome some serious obstacles to get where she is today.

She has shared the stage with many of the world's greatest orchestras and conductors and when she isn't busy touring or recording, she heads the Rachel Barton Pine Foundation. It was founded in 2001 to expand awareness of and appreciation for classical music. It provides services and funding for classical music education, research, performances and artists, to benefit listeners and learners alike. Current projects include grants for education, an instrument loan program and many other programs.

Here is a short video to give you some insight into her courage, her heart and her immense talent. http://bit.ly/1BfjWhT
