Canada's national men's team was announced for the 2018 Olympic games and the roster features two Manitobans.

Chay Genoway and Quinton Howden were named to the national men's team. The team will be competing in the PyeongChang 2018 Olympic Games from February 14 to 25.

Genoway is from Morden, Manitoba. He played for the Winkler Flyers in the MJHL before moving onto the University of North Dakota for five seasons. His best season came in 2010-11 when he picked up 37 points in just 36 games. He graduated as the fourth-highest-scoring defenceman in UND history, and his 168 games are tied for the most by a UND defender.

Undrafted, Genoway signed a one-year deal with the Minnesota Wild and appeared in his one and only NHL game on April 7, 2012, where he registered an assist. He is currently playing for HC Lada Togaliatti in the Kontinental Hockey League.

Quinton Howden is from Oakbank, Manitoba, and while this is his first Olympic game, it isn't the first time he has represented Canada. He played on the 2011 and 2012 Canadian teams at the World Junior Ice Hockey Championships.

He played for the Moose Jaw Warriors in the WHL, where he scored at a point-per-game or higher pace in three of the five seasons. Howden was drafted in the first round of the NHL draft by the Florida Panthers. After a few years with the organization, he signed as a free agent with his hometown Winnipeg Jets and spent most of the season with the Manitoba Moose. This past season, Howden has been playing in the KHL with HC Dinamo Minsk.

Mason Raymond also made the Canadian Olympic team. Raymond spent part of two seasons with the Manitoba Moose 1.0 organization back in 2006-07. More recently, Eric O'Dell played for the Winnipeg Jets farm team from 2011 to 2015 when they were still in St. John's. He also played 41 games with the Jets.
