Did you catch conductor Jose Luis Gomez live on Classic 107 this morning?  If you missed it, here is the interview with host Eric Friesen.

This weekend  Venezuelan-born Spanish composer Jose Luis Gomez is in Winnipeg to lead the WSO as they perform Mendelssohn’s Overture, The Fair Melusina, Schumann’s Konzerstuk for Four Horns and Orchestra and Beethoven’s Symphony No 3 in E Flat Major. Appropriately, the concert is called Four Horns & Beethoven. This morning Mr. Gomez dropped by the Classic 107 studio to talk with host Eric Friesen about the concert, growing up in Venezuela and being a product of "El Sistema de Orquestas de Venezuela".

The WSO's Four Horns & Beethoven is on Friday night and Saturday night at 8:00 PM (Jan 17 & 18). He is also conducting the orchestra tomorrow morning (Jan 17) at 10:30 AM as they perform Beethoven's Symphony #3 (Eroica). This is part of the WSO's Matinee Series.

For tickets call the WSO box office and keep it tuned to Classic 107.1 FM. We have tickets to Saturday night's performance to give away!
