Officials are sharing how Manitoba's COVID-19 restrictions are loosening this weekend.

On Wednesday afternoon, Dr. Brent Roussin and Premier Brian Pallister are announcing the second stage to the 4-3-2 One Great Summer reopening Path plan. The changes will be in effect on Saturday until August 7.

The Public Health Orders were set to end on August 2, but Manitoba has hit its second vaccination target sooner than expected.

Orders will differ for those who are fully vaccinated and those who are not.

New Orders

Gatherings

Indoor gatherings will expand to 25 in public spaces and will allow five people inside of the household at a private residence. Outdoor gatherings on private property are seeing expanded limits, moving to 25, and 150 people on public property.

Faith

Indoor and outdoor faith gatherings can have a maximum of 150 people or a 50 per cent capacity, whichever is the lowest. There is no limit to drive-in services.

Outdoor weddings and funerals may include up to 150 participants, excluding photographers and officiants. Indoor weddings or funerals increase to 25 people in addition to the photographers and officiants.

Masks and physical distancing between households continue to be required.

Recreation

Recreation facilities are reopening, with most limited to fully vaccinated Manitobans.

Winnipeg Blue Bomber fans can return to the stands at full capacity on August 5 if fully vaccinated. These regulations also apply to all professional outdoor sports and performing arts events.

Fully vaccinated Manitobans can visit museums, movie theatres, bingo halls, and other recreation facilities with a maximum capacity of 50 per cent. Libraries will open at 50 per cent, or 150 people. Those who are not fully vaccinated cannot attend any of these places or events.

Day camp group sizes will expand to 25 from 20.

Businesses

Retail will open to a 50 per cent or 500 person max capacity.

Restaurants will open to 50 per cent. Indoor dining tables are limited to an eight-person maximum and must be fully vaccinated or from the same household. They can open until midnight.

Indoor mask use and physical distancing is still required.
