Four Winnipeg firefighters will spend the next few days camping out on top of Station 4 in Osborne Village.

It's all part of the 11th annual Firefighter Campout, an event hosted by the United Firefighters of Winnipeg and Muscular Dystrophy Canada to raise funds and awareness for the neuromuscular disease.

The goal this year is to raise $50,000.

From now until Friday morning, the firefighters will use a boot on a rope to collect donations. Another group of firefighters will hit the pavement, collecting donations in front of the Osborne Street Fire Hall during the morning and afternoon rush.

Since it started, Winnipeg Firefighters have raised over $1 million.
