Winnipeg Police are busy investigating a fatal collision just off Dugald Road Friday afternoon. 

The two-vehicle crash, involving a passenger vehicle and commercial vehicle happened at the intersection of Dugald Road and Bournais Drive at around 9:30 a.m.
The 47-year-old male driver of the passenger vehicle had to be extracted by WFPS responders. He was transported to a hospital in critical condition where he later succumbed to his injuries.

UPDATE:

Dugald's eastbound lanes are now open. Westbound remains closed from Guy Savoie to Mazenod.

Previously:

Officers have shut down northbound Bournais Drive and southbound Beghin Avenue to investigate.

Motorists will be re-directed eastbound from Bournais Drive and westbound from Beghin Avenue.

It is unclear as to how long the closure will remain in effect. 

Motorists are asked to find alternate routes and avoid the area.
