UPDATE: The Winnipeg Regional Health Authority says RCMP have recovered their stolen outreach van.

The WRHA says although the Street Connections van has been found, they will continue to use the rental vehicle for the time being.

There is no word on where the vehicle was found or if any charges will be laid.

The Winnipeg Regional Health Authority is asking for the public's assistance in locating a van they use for outreach.

Over the weekend, the vehicle used by Street Connections, a program that sees public health nurses and outreach workers drive around the city six evenings a week to reduce the spread of sexually transmitted and blood-borne infections and reduce other drug-related harms, was stolen.

The vehicle is described as a white 2013 Nissan NV 2500 SV with large Street Connections logos on the sides.

"If you spot the van or are approached by someone in the van, please be aware that it is not Street Connections staff," said the WRHA in a press release.

Anyone who sees the van is asked to contact the Winnipeg police non-emergency line at 204-986-222 or 9-1-1.

Despite the setback, the WRHA says Street Connections will continue to operate normally as scheduled in a rental vehicle with Street Connections signage on the roof.
