Sea Bears owner thanks fans for record breaking season
The Winnipeg Sea Bears wrapped up the regular season and now their owner is thanking fans for an incredible season. "As another thrilling season comes to a close, I want to extend my deepest thanks for making it one we’ll never forget. Your passion, energy and unwavering support have been the heartbeat of our team from day one, and this year, you helped us make history once again," David Asper said in an email release. Following the season, the Sea Bears broke their own regular-season record as over 90,000 fans filled the stands at Canada Life Centre. "That’s more than just a number, it’s a testament to the community we’ve built together and the pride we all share for basketball in Winnipeg. We could not have done it without you!" The City of Winnipeg will now play host to Canada’s Championship Weekend, happening August 21 through 24. "This is our chance to showcase our city, our fans, and our team to the entire country. It will be a celebration of basketball like no other, and we can’t wait to share it with you." The Sea Bears take the court on Friday, August 22 at 7:30 p.m. for the Western Conference Final. If they win the game, the Sea Bears will move onto the Championship game. "From everyone in the Sea Bears organization, thank you for being part of this journey, for believing in us, and for showing the rest of Canada what Winnipeg pride looks like."
