A happy pup looking for his second chance!
This 1-year-old is a whole lot of fun to be around and easily puts a smile on our faces with his silly, wiggly, wholesome personality.
He enjoys going on his walkies, playing with his stuffies, and getting all the belly scratchies he could ever dream of. Cricket is still a very young dog who knows the basics, but has a few puppy behaviours he hasn’t quite grown out of. He is eager to learn and eager to please, and with a patient family who is just as eager to continue working on his manners, Cricket will be set to become a great canine citizen and companion.

Question: Who can adopt an animal from the Winnipeg Humane Society?
Answer: Anyone interested in adopting should contact the WHS Adoptions team! If you live in the city OR in the country, we’ll find a pet to match your personality and space. Talk to one of our adoption counsellors about what kind of pet is right for you and your home!
Question: What should I consider before adopting a new pet?
Answer: You definitely need to consider these three key things!
- What is your lifestyle? Do you like to relax and chill or go for regular runs?
- What’s your space like? Do you live in a small apartment or have a large, fenced yard? Do you have experience with perimeter training for unfenced properties?
- What’s your budget? Pets come with regular costs like food, litter, grooming, vet visits and regular vaccines! Once you're ready, the Winnipeg Humane Society will help you make a purrrfect match!
Question: How much does an adoption cost?
Answer: It depends on the animal! Prices range from $79+ for cats, $220+ for dogs and critters range by animal type. Senior animals are even lower, but also vary by pet. We often run adoption promotions so be sure to follow us on social media. All adoptions come spayed/neutered, with an ear tattoo for ID, first vaccine, vet wellness check and a limited complimentary pet insurance trial.
