In its opening concert, WNMF veers into the world of technology, mathematics, and social commentary with this eclectic program of Canadian works.

Native Winnipegger Eliot Britton opens the program with his mesmerizing Hyperscale Landscape, performed by Winnipeg percussionist Ben Reimer and WSO assistant conductor Naomi Woo on piano.

The WSO’s Gwen Hoebig and Karl Stobbe will lend their incredible talents to a work by German born Canadian composer Michael Oesterle, Eulerian Dances.

Ben Reimer also performs the JUNO-nominated Katan of Choice for solo drum set by Canadian iconoclast Nicole Lizée. Reimer and WNMF co-curator and WSO composer-in-residence Harry Stafylakis then team up on Therein Lies the Enemy to take a long, hard look at the decisive state of culture and our complex relationships with our social media personas.
