It has been quite the busy day for Manitoba Hydro as they deal with a number of outages.

Bruce Owen, media relations officer for Manitoba Hydro says, wind and rainy conditions in Winnipeg and the surrounding area have caused the outages.

"Pole fires and fallen trees are behind most of the outage calls today," explained Owen.

Around 680 customers were without service in Portage la Prairie this morning, while another 7200 were without power in Winkler.

Here in Winnipeg crews have been dealing with at least 12 different outages affecting over 2000 customers.

Hydro crews are working around the clock to fix all of the outages affecting our province today.
