Classic 107 - Winnipeg's classical and jazz radio station.

The fantastic annual series gets underway this weekend with piano prodigy Christian Sands. Producer Bev Aronivitch and host Michael Wolch talked about the opening performance and many other highlights from the season, including Michael's favourite Rene Marie. Missed our interview? Watch it here!

Five-time Grammy nominee Christian Sands is on his way to jazz stardom. He’s an emerging jazz force and a master of taste and swing. At only 20 years old (he’s now 27), Sands was invited to join Grammy award-winning bassist Christian McBride’s trio. Since then, Sands has become the brightest new star on the New York jazz scene, sharing the stage with jazz lunimaries like Wynton Marsalis and the late Oscar Peterson. The power and prowess of his playing have taken him to every major jazz festival and jazz club around the world. Catch him on his way up!
