A brand of chicken breast strips is being recalled due to possible Listera monocytogenes contamination. 

 

The recall affects 1kg Pinty's brand Oven Roasted Chicken Breast Strips with a best before date of August 9th, 2018 and August 15th, 2018, with the UPC code of 69094 62401.

The recall was triggered by Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) test results. The CFIA is conducting a food safety investigation, which may lead to the recall of other products. 

Food contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes may not look or smell spoiled but can still make a person sick. Symptoms can include vomiting, nausea, persistent fever, muscle aches, severe headache and neck stiffness. Pregnant women, the elderly and people with weakened immune systems are particularly at risk

There have been no reported illnesses in connection to this recall.

Anyone with this product in their home is encouraged to either throw it out or return it to the store where it was purchased.
